BEGINNINGS – 1977

South Newcastle Womens Hockey Club established in 1977 with 2 women’s teams entering the Newcastle competition.
1984 – 3 senior women’s teams and 2 schoolgirls teams
1987 – 5 teams in women’s comp

 

1997/1998

In 1997/98 the seniors had only one team and 4 junior teams.Through hard work invested in the junior teams by the coaching staff and the committee the seniors stocks were soon replenished for the future years.

 

Representatives

SNWHC has supplied Newcastle, NSW representative players and coaches in junior girls, senior womens and Masters Womens.

Australian reps:
Jan O’Brien – Australian Women’s Masters Goalkeeper in 2003 touring NZ.
Mariah Williams – Current Hockeyroo

Successful in winning minor & major premierships at both junior & senior levels.
